Last time in the Legacy, we saw Fennec growing into full adulthood, Tanuki and Inu both being WAY too social for Loners, and the *sniff* passing of Vixen Canid. I like to think that she's gone on to better things. Like virtual reality helmets at midnight. Insane Jackal got himself an Evil girlfriend (there's a nice thought), Loner Tanuki got a part-time job (and fairly promptly quit it again), Fennec got promoted more, and Kitsune... fished. And of course Inu got the awesome "Emperor of Evil" Lifetime Wish, and eventually grew up into a teen.
We rejoin our family on the morning after Inu's birthday, a Wednesday, with most of the kids stumbling out of bed and eventually making it off to school. And the older kids...

You two DO realize that there's an entire houseful of more expensive totally fun non-sprinkler activities, right? RIGHT?
Jackal meanwhile is the responsible adult (scaaary), and finishes off both the latest Legacy portrait and his latest novel in fairly quick succession.

The painting is less than spectacular, but mostly because of user error (me clicking to capture the still shot he would paint), while the book seems to be a nice success, if not a best seller.
The kids meanwhile are learning and socializing off at school.

...Haven't we seen this before?
After school, Inu goes off for a cooking lesson. It's the reduced lesson of the day, and while he won't need it for his future career, I figure he might as well make use of his Natural Cook trait. As for the twins...

Et tu, Kitsune?
I send her off to do her homework, then to do some more fishing, this time at the beach.

The quicker she can get her perfect aquarium, the better. Not that I don't like her, but the house is feeling fairly full already, and we're getting close to Heir-change time.
Once Inu is done with his lesson and homework, he's still showing an interest in cold Logic, this time roping his mother into a game of chess.

As for Tanuki, her own lessons tend to crop up in the morning, as I've been cultivating (heh) her Gardening skill.

While her siblings fairly quickly found their own niches, Tanuki still doesn't have a Lifetime Wish or even any one thing that she's totally into, so I've been pretty much throwing a bunch of things at her and seeing what sticks.
Thursday morning also sees the passing of Fox Canid, not surprising since her twin passed away about a week ago, Sim-time. It's a bit sad though that even though she was living in the Legacy house until somewhat recently, the family has drifted far enough apart that the first inkling of her passing was in the newspaper.
While the kids are at school, Fennec takes the time to get to know the maid-of-the-day.

Unlike his father, he just tends to like to chat with them, male or female, rather than trying to make moves on them. It's still a bit annoying though, considering the fact that the maids tend to be lazy enough on their own, thank you.
Donna makes use of her second day off for the week to further her guitar skill, because she wanted to. (Not like it'll be of use in her career, but hey.) Jackal meanwhile gets the hankering to visit the library, where he spends much of the day reading books before I make him write some more in his newest novel, to make use of the library's quiet atmosphere, conducive to getting tasks like that done.

Whether it's the atmosphere or not, he manages to finish off the book, and turns it into a best-seller. Go Jackal!
Friday, most of the Canids converge for breakfast at the same time, luckily not getting under one another's feet too badly for a change.

Jackal decides to go out on a date with Dianna for a change, meeting up with her in the park and then taking her into buildings for a tour of, the, um, sights. Yeah. *cough*

In the process, I forgot I'd left both Inu and Kitsune busy doing other things when it was time to catch their schoolbus, and they were both a bit late for class. Oops.

While at school Tanuki actually gets another Lifetime Wish randomly cropping up.

Unfortunately, it's one of those again. *sigh*
In the early afternoon, the family makes a few new purchases for their pool room because...

That's right, it's party time! I realized that it's been ages since the Canids last threw a party, plus their new indoor pool has as of yet gone uncelebrated, so with the weekend here it's time for a pool party to correct this sad state of affairs.
Fennec and Donna both spend some time before work cooking some refreshments for the incoming hordes.

The twins come straight home from school to try to get their homework done before the party, although Inu spends some time at the day's reduced Charisma class, since it seems fitting for a future evil emperor and all.

While they manage to finish up before the main party hits, one of the early guests must think that they look like they're getting hungry doing all that hard thinking or something. I really don't know.
As the earlier guests arrive, Jackal's method of swimming seems to attract a few onlookers.

I can't possibly imagine why.
Still, it doesn't take too long for him to get company, although Tanuki, who's Hydrophobic, spends much of her time dancing by the new poolside stereo.

Of course, a party of any type is also a good excuse to chat with some cuties of the preferred gender.

...Or to have them run away when you try to get to know them.

Poor Inu.
At the end, the party was a modest success, and the kids got to have some fun and mingle, so all's well that ends well.
Saturday as most of the family sleeps in and recovers, Fennec has his own fun showing off his kitchen skills.

Not the sort of thing you'd think a clumsy Sim would be doing, but oh well. At least I don't have to eat it if he ever drops it.
Jackal does some painting and Kitsune some laid-back fishing (surprise surprise), while Tanuki tries to get the Gardening done despite her mother's "help."

Inu meanwhile is working out on the exercise equipment, for a change of pace and as preparation for his future career, which hints that the Athletics skill will be useful.

A bit later in the morning, Jackal finally finishes a Legacy portrait of Fennec that can be lived with.

Once they're done with their own skill-building routines, today's a day for socialization. Yes, even for the Loners. Kitsune decides to chat with the not-too-bad maid that shows up today, Marlon Dupre.

I'd be fairly leery of having a second maid in the main Legacy line given Russell's flirtiness, and the quick aging of Jayson, but for an offshoot (not that I'm saying Kitsune's a Spare... *cough* oh, who am I kidding?), it's fine.
As for Tanuki, she decides to continue her family's obsession with the Goths, and invite over Bimble.

Inu goes a bit of a different route... he instead invites over the next ranked chess opponent Amelia Langerak, and challenges her to a game.

He loses. Of course, he's also got a bit more time before aging into an adult.
Apparently everyone loves Bimble.

Both Jackal and Kitsune spend some time hogging his conversation.
As you may have noticed, while the kids (and Jackal) are socializing at home the parents are at work, and Fennec finally gets his promotion to Five-Star Chef, level 10 of the Culinary career. Too bad it's not his LTW this time around. :/
But on the bright side, he gets a neat new fridge out of it, which keeps leftovers from ever spoiling.

It also got a quick paint job to match the rest of the kitchen. Spiffy!
Donna also gets a promotion that night along with a new piece of equipment, but since it's a second copy of the food processor that the family already has due to Fennec, it's not as big a deal. But still, any step toward the fulfillment of Donna's LTW is more than welcome!
With the parents home for the night, the family and their friends just hang out a little while longer relaxing and socializing, before heading off to bed.

Oh yeah, and loving the goggles. Of course.
The next morning of their weekend, Kitsune gets around to stocking a fish bowl with a perfect Pirahna she caught the previous morning.

The random name generated amuses me, so it stays.
She decides to spend the day fishing farther away from home, while Jackal totally shows up Tanuki in the "who earns bigger royalties" game.

He then calls his girlfriend over for a bit of quality time, and for a change she agrees to come.

Well, okay then. Looks like this should be... interesting.
I figure that Insane or not, he might as well do the right thing - he's not going to move out too soon, but he might as well at least make his intentions clear for the future...

Ouch. Rejected.
It's okay Jackal, she's Evil anyhow. It's best this way, trust me.
For Tanuki at least, it's a bit too early to worry about all this "grown-up" garbage.

The actual younger teen meanwhile is busy bonding with his apparently-not-future-aunt...

...And getting called on his less-than-shining tendencies by his uncle.

An uncle who just happens to be conveniently ignoring the fact that the woman who's going to bear his child and that he just proposed to is ALSO Evil, but hey.
The AI also seems to be trying to throw me a bone, giving me a new option for Tanuki's LTW...

Which unfortunately also happens to be a repeat. Although it's at least not the science or artist ones that I constantly see, so that's something, anyhow.
To round out the weekend, Inu makes use of the new telescope I bought for his room to put by the window, along with a chess set of his own, since he seems to really like Logic.

And at least he can use it all by himself, without getting accused by other people of being Evil. The nerve.
Monday morning comes, as Monday mornings are wont to do after a weekend...

And Jackal is now the father of a baby girl named Starla Goth. Heavens help us all.
Other than that admittedly important event, the day goes fairly smoothly and slowly. The teens come home and decide to do their homework together, mostly on the floor.

Maybe because Boys Have Cooties?
Now that he's done with the Legacy portraits for a short while, Jackal finishes off a random other painting that I like, and decide to keep. I name it Sunburst and hang it in the pool room.

I think the coloring works well there.
Kitsune manages to add a new black goldfish to her perfect collection, and Inu works on his fitness through jogging, but other than that, nothing much happens. Typical boring Monday.
To get Tuesday off to a better (or at least less healthy) start, Fennec makes cookies for breakfast.

Mmm, cookies.
Jackal meanwhile goes off to visit and bond with his newborn daughter.

He never did actually get invited in, but after a while he decided to wander in on his own, anyhow. Bug? Perq of being insane? No clue, but hey, it works.
Back at home, Tanuki takes over making some dinner, while her parents are at work.

Besides, while she likes cookies as much as the next girl (unless maybe I'm the "next girl,"), cookies for an actual meal are going a bit overboard. So she makes some healthy sushi.
Mmmm, sushi.
...Darnit, I'm starting to make myself hungry with this blog.
And Tuesday ends off with much more of a bang than Monday, with Donna's promotion at work, quickly followed by a pair of birthdays:

Kitsune is now Good as her last trait (which I'm sure is going to work oh so well with Inu in the house), and Tanuki is a Workaholic. Which is actually fairly useful, because she gets a final choice between five different Lifetime Wishes as she grows into young adulthood, and I decide to go with the wish to be a Star News Anchor, which is level 10 in the Journalism career, matching her early liking for writing, although that's petered off a bit lately.
Since the career says it takes Charisma, and that's the offered course of the day, Tanuki runs off to quickly take the course while Kitsune goes first with her makeover:

I again decide to keep the same hair, but give her some makeup as a change of pace. Yes, she still has her glasses as well, they just don't show up in the first screen due to her having snuck off to bed briefly and being in her nightclothes. I round things off with an outfit that's pretty, but informal.
Once Tanuki gets home, it's her turn at the mirror and dresser:

I was actually going to change up her hairstyle for something different, something more "journalist" in nature, but I don't know if it's just that I'm used to this one or what, but none of the styles looked good with her face. So she just kept what she had as a teen. Her clothes are not highly formal, but at least a little more so than her sister's, to match the new career that she's hoping to break into.
And with the hair and clothes all done... so is this generation. Now that the twins have all grown up (sniff), it's time to ring out the third generation, and ring in the fourth. Come back next time for... well, for the between-generations update really, but after that, we start off anew.

How's Sims 3 treating you/your computer, anyhow?

Also, with the number of robot-creature crossbreeders that must be running around, I am disappointed that there do not appear to be any cyborgs in the actual Sims game!

Although I don't know if it's so much a boring wish in Sims-land general, or just due to the way I play my Sims. A lot of them for instance have been doing gardening and/or fishing, which are requirements for Science!, so maybe that's why they get them? I dunno.
